Qinxian Bonnie Ran was born and raised in Shanghai, China. She received her BA at Hamilton College and will pursue her MPhil in English at the University of Cambridge afterward.

She researches literature across Ancient Greek, Chinese/Sinophone, and English/Anglophone culture, with particular emphasis on Comparative and World Literature, Classical Reception, Diaspora Studies, and Postcolonial Studies. Her essays appear in Cha: An Asian Literary Journal and Suture: A Humanities and Social Sciences Journal.

Beyond scholarly work, she is actively involved in the Sinophone poetry community. Under the pen name “苒苒,” she has primarily published poems in 《創世紀詩雜誌》(The Epoch Poetry Quarterly) and 《聲韻詩刊》(Voice and Verse Poetry Magazine). She also frequently writes poetry reviews for “诗午餐” (Poemeal).
